The Slavic Doll, also known as “Slavic Kukla,” is a traditional fabric craft with a history of about a thousand years, playing a significant role in the lives of Slavic people.
The Slavic Doll serves various purposes depending on the making method. It can be used as a toy for children or placed in homes as a symbol of blessings and protection. It is often utilized in different ceremonies and celebrations. Nowadays, it is rare to find Slavic fabric dolls in most Russian cities. They can only be found in places dedicated to preserving traditional culture, making them a precious cultural heritage.
The doll crafted during this event is called “Manilka,” and according to the ancient Slavic belief, it has the power to make people’s wishes come true.
